  • Be prepared - Establish a dedicated, outdoor lighting zone away from dry grass or structures, and always keep a pressurized garden hose or a bucket of water within arm's reach.

Be safe - Have an adult supervise all fireworks. Keep children and pets a safe distance, and never hold a lit firework in your hand.

Be responsible - Never attempt to relight a firework that fails to ignite. Instead, wait 15 to 20 minutes, then completely submerge the firework in a bucket of water.

Be aware - Buy only consumer-legal fireworks (fountains, cones, and wheels) from Oregon licensed, permitted retail stands and stores.
