The City of Stayton contracts with Marion County for plan review and construction inspection to certify compliance with state and local codes.
All residential and commercial permitapplications must be submitted through Oregon E-permitting along with all required supporting documents.
Once all documents are uploaded, the formal review process will begin. This process helps prevent documents from being sent through multiple email chains and ensures there are no duplicate or missing materials. If revisions are required during the review process, staff will send a correction memo outlining what needs to be updated. Revised plans and documents must then be re-uploaded to E-permitting for continued review.
Permit Process:
1) Submit application and all supporting documents to E-Permitting;
2) Application Reviewed by Permit Technician;
3) Initial review fees are calculated and collected;
4) First round of review is completed by City Planning and Engineering;
5) If approved, permit is routed to Marion County for review;
>Marion County review may take 2-3 weeks.
>If Marion County identifies corrections, they will contact the applicant directly.
6) File is returned to City for final fee calculations and collection;
7) Final review by City Planning and Engineering completed;
8) Once approved and all fees are paid, Permit is released.
Please note: If plans or supporting documents are emailed to staff, they will not be uploaded to E-permitting on your behalf. Uploading all necessary documents is the responsibility of the contractor/applicant and is a required step in the permit process.
Additionally, contacting staff to request permit issuance before all required steps have been completed may delay processing. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in following the established procedures to help ensure timely and accurate permit review and issuance.
