The Budget Committee meets annually to review the proposed fiscal year budget. Typically meetings occur in May, with a total of three to four meetings. The Committee is comprised of the Mayor and City Council, plus six community members.
If you are interested in serving on the Budget Committee, please visit our City Boards and Commissions page to learn how you can apply.
If you would like to view the budget documents, please visit the Finance Budget page of our site. There you will find the current proposed budget (if applicable), as well as adopted budgets.
Budget Committee meetings are held at the Stayton Community Center (400 W. Virginia Street) but can also be live streamed on the City of Stayton’s YouTube account.
The purpose of these meetings is to review the proposed budget, receive budget presentations by City staff, and provide an opportunity to discuss and deliberate the proposed budget. Additional Budget Committee meetings, if necessary, will be held on subsequent evenings beginning at 6:00 p.m., until such time as the Budget Committee takes action to approve the proposed budget, as may be amended.
