This monthly police blotter contains a short summary of police arrests for April 2026. Please note this is just a glimpse into police activity in the City of Stayton that resulted in arrests and does not cover all calls for service.
April 1 – Shaff Rd - An officer was dispatched to a reported hit-and-run involving another vehicle. A witness provided the license plate of the vehicle involved, allowing officers to identify and locate the driver. The driver was contacted and cited for failure to perform the duties of a driver when property is damaged.
April 2 – Tenth St - During a traffic stop, an officer determined the driver was operating a vehicle with a suspended license. The subject, a 32-year-old female from Stayton, was arrested and cited for driving while suspended.
April 3 – Golf Club Rd - An officer was dispatched to a reported trespass after a caller stated that a female who had previously been trespassed from the location had returned. Officers located the subject, a 44-year-old female from Stayton, who was taken into custody and cited for criminal trespass in the first degree.
April 6 – W Locust St - Officers responded to reports of a male running in the street and obstructing traffic. Upon locating the subject, a 43-year-old male transient, he was taken into custody for disorderly conduct in the second degree and transported to the Marion County Jail.
April 12 – Shaff Rd - An officer observed a vehicle driving erratically and leaving the roadway, entering a small ditch. After stopping the vehicle, the driver displayed signs of impairment. Following an investigation, the subject, a 21-year-old male from Stayton, was taken into custody for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
April 15 – N Tenth Ave - Officers responded to the hospital on a report that a female had brought controlled substances into the facility. Officers contacted the subject, a 23-year-old female from Sublimity, who was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, identified as fentanyl and MDMA.
April 16 – N Third Ave - Officers received a report of a vehicle vandalism in which all four tires had been slashed. Video surveillance led to the identification of a 19-year-old male from Woodburn, and similar incidents in other cities were noted. Officers later received information that the subject had been located in another jurisdiction, where he was taken into custody and transported to the Stayton Police Department for processing. The subject was arrested for criminal mischief in the first degree.
April 18 – Wilco Rd - Officers received a report of a vehicle driving erratically, varying speeds, leaving the roadway, and entering oncoming lanes multiple times. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver displayed signs of impairment, and following an investigation, the subject, a 53-year-old female from Scio, was taken into custody for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
April 26 – Shaff Rd - Officers responded to a report from a local business of a possible intoxicated driver at the location. Officers located the vehicle and contacted the driver, who displayed signs of impairment. Following an investigation, the subject, a 40-year-old female from Salem, was taken into custody for driving under the influence of intoxicants, driving while suspended, and open container of alcohol.
April 27 – N First Ave - Officers responded to a business on a report of a male urinating in public. Officers contacted the subject, a 28-year-old male transient, who was trespassed from the location and taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
April 29 – W Washington St - During a traffic stop, officers learned the driver did not have insurance and had an outstanding warrant for criminal trespass in the second degree out of Linn County. The subject, a 40-year-old female from Scio, was taken into custody.
