The following is a summary of notable arrests and police activity handled by the Stayton Police Department during the month of June 2025. These incidents reflect a range of enforcement actions, including warrant arrests, DUI investigations, theft, and other criminal offenses. Please note this is just a glimpse into police activity in the Stayton that resulted in arrests and does not cover all calls for service.

 

  • 6/1/2025 – Shaff Rd: Officers observed a 27-year-old man from Stayton, with known felony warrants enter a local store. Officers approached him inside, escorted him outside, then arrested him on the outstanding warrants. He was transported to the Marion County Jail.

  • 6/5/2025 – Fern Ridge: During a traffic stop, a 64 year old Gates resident was cited for driving without a license and arrested on two warrants—one for failure to appear and another for probation violation. He was cited and released.

  • 6/9/2025 – Whitney St: During a traffic stop, officers recognized the 47-year-old Stayton resident passenger who had an active warrant. He was arrested on site and transported to the Marion County Jail.

  • 6/15/2025 – Shaff Rd: Officers located a 42-year-old transient at a local business from which he had been trespassed earlier that day. The male was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail.

  • 6/15/2025 – W. Locust St: Officers stopped a motorcycle traveling West on Locust Street for a traffic violation. When stopped, the operator, a 33-year-old Stayton man, showed notable signs of impairment, including slurred speech. Following a DUI investigation, the subject was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail.

  • 6/18/2025 – Shaff Rd: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. When they located the 27-year-old Stayton man, he fled on foot. The officers caught and detained him while the caller confirmed he had trespassed on their property. He was arrested and transported to jail.

  • 6/19/2025 – N. 10th Ave: Officers responded to a reported hit and run at the Santiam Hospital. A witness reported that a vehicle had struck the building and then her vehicle before exiting the parking lot. The driver, an 86-year-old female of Lyons , was later contacted and cited for Fail to Perform Duties of Driver When Property is Damaged.

  • 6/21/25 – Shaff Rd: Officers responded to a verbal disturbance involving a male and female arguing. While enroute, the officer located the 37-year-old female walking away from the scene. During contact with the female, the officer learned she had active warrants. She was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail.

  • 6/21/2025 – Stayton: Officers received an online tip through the Safe Oregon website alleging abuse of a minor by a family member. Following a thorough investigation, officers arrested the family member on related charges. 30-year-old male Stayton resident is charged with Sex Abuse in the Third Degree x 5 and Sex Abuse in the Second Degree.

  • 6/22/25 – W. Ida St: Officers observed a vehicle speeding 15 mph over the limit and failing to maintain its lane. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, a 31-year-old Gates woman, exhibited signs of impairment prompting the officer to conduct field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for DUII and taken to the Stayton Police Department for a breath test, BAC of 0.14%.

  • 6/24/2025 – N. Gardner Ave: Officers responded to a report of stolen equipment from a backyard. A witness described three individuals and their direction of travel. Officers located the group, identified the responsible party, and made an arrest. The subject, a 42-year-old male transient was served a trespass notice and charged with Theft III and Criminal Trespass II.

  • 6/25/25 – Whitney St: Officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle that struck a fuel pump. The driver’s side of the vehicle was heavily damaged. Officers noted signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests. The driver, a 47-year-old female from Portland, was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving.

  • 6/27/25 – Golf Club Rd: Officers responded to a call about an erratic driver, located the vehicle, and contacted the driver—a 31 year old Stayton woman—who was driving with a suspended license and failed to install a required ignition interlock device. Dispatch also advised that she had an outstanding warrant from Woodburn. Officers arrested her and transported her to Marion County Jail.
