Arrest Blotter

 

This monthly police blotter contains a short summary of police arrests for April 2025 in the City of Stayton. Please note this is just a glimpse into police activity that resulted in arrests and what is happening around town and does not cover all calls for service.

 

4/3/2025- N Third Ave - A 39-year-old Stayton resident was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by Marion County. Officers initially made contact with the individual while responding to a non-criminal disturbance. Following the interaction, the warrant was confirmed, and the individual was taken into custody and transported to Marion County Jail.

 

4/6/2025- E Santiam St – Officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by a 46 male resident of Stayton. The driver refused to pull over and continued driving before coming to an abrupt stop in a residential driveway. The driver ran into the home where he attempted to hide under a pile of clothing. Officers were able to locate the male where he was arrested for Fleeing or attempting to Elude a Police Officer in a Vehicle as well as Elude on Foot and cited for operating a vehicle without driving privileges and driving while uninsured.

 

4/8/2025- N First Ave near Locust - A 56-year-old male resident of Stayton was contacted on foot by police and arrested on a Marion County felony warrant for drug charges. During the arrest, officers found a substance on the male that later tested positive for Cocaine.  The individual was charged with Unlawful Delivery of Cocaine within 1000 feet of a school and Unlawful Possession of Cocaine.

 

4/18/2025 – W Burnett– Officers located a 39-year-old male resident of Stayton who was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant. The individual was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Marion County Jail.

 

4/18/2025 – W Washington St – Officers responded to a complaint of a 42-year-old male subject trespassing on private property. The individual was found staying in a tent on the premises.  The subject was arrested for Criminal Trespass.

 

4/23/2025 – Shaff Rd. – Officers responded to a report of a juvenile making statements to referencing a school threat. Following the investigation, given the serious nature of the comments and the safety of the schools and community, the juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

4/25/2025 –Shaff Rd–A Stayton juvenile was taken into custody following an investigation of a report of physical abuse occurring on separate dates involving the same victim.  The individual was transported to Marion County Juvenile Detention on charges of Physical Harassment and Assault.

 

4/25/2025 – First Ave – Officers observed a vehicle occupied by an individual known to have an active felony warrant. Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the 32-year-old male subject. The subject was arrested for his outstanding Felony Parole Violation Warrant and transported to Marion County Jail.

 

4/25/2025- Shaff Rd. -An officer responded to a report of a vehicle driving erratically. The caller also observed the driver stop in a parking lot to urinate. The officer located the vehicle a short time later and made contact with the driver, a 36-year-old male resident of Aumsville. During the interaction, the driver exhibited signs of impairment. Following an investigation, the driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII).

 

4/26/2025- Dawn Dr. - Officers observed a driver known to have a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted, during which the driver displayed clear signs of impairment. After conducting field sobriety tests, officers arrested the driver, a 35-year-old male resident of Stayton, for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) and Operating a Vehicle without Driving Privileges.

 

4/28/2025 -E Marion - Officers contacted a 36-year-old transient male from Stayton who was known to have an active warrant out of Marion County. When officers issued verbal commands for him to stop, the individual continued walking away. Additional units responded and the suspect was eventually detained. While being placed in the back of the patrol vehicle, the suspect began spitting inside the vehicle and also on an officer. He was booked into the Marion County Jail on his original warrant, as well as new charges of Aggravated Harassment, Resisting Arrest, Escape III, and Criminal Mischief III.
