This monthly police blotter contains a short summary of police arrests for December 2025. Please note this is just a glimpse into police activity in the City of Stayton that resulted in arrests and does not cover all calls for service.
December 2nd - Stayton area - Officers responded to a vacant property after a caller reported that someone had entered the home but was no longer on scene. Upon checking the residence, officers located several stolen items stashed inside. Officers were aware of a male subject who had previously been arrested in connection with items found at the location. The 47-year-old male was interviewed and subsequently arrested for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree.
December 2nd - E Kathy St- Officers recovered stolen property from a recent arrest and contacted the property owner. During the contact, the owner reported that their vehicle had been damaged when an unknown person unlawfully entered and stole property. As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old male was arrested for Unlawful Entry into a Vehicle with Intent to Commit Theft and Theft in the First Degree from a Motor Vehicle.
December 6th - Cedar St - During a traffic stop, officers observed indicators that the driver was possibly impaired and also noted the presence of alcohol in the vehicle. Following an investigation, the driver, a 31-year-old male from Salem, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and cited for Driving without an Operator’s License, Driving Without Insurance, and Unlawful Turn.
December 9th - E Santiam St – Officers responded to a reported theft. After further investigation, officers cited the 17-year-old male subject for Theft in the Third Degree.
December 10th - Wilco Rd - During a traffic stop, an officer learned the male driver had an active warrant out of McMinnville. The driver, a 23-year-old Salem resident, was taken into custody and transported to the Stayton Police Department, where he was cited per the court summons for Failure to Appear.
December 10th - Shaff Rd - During a traffic stop, an officer observed signs of impairment. Following an investigation, the driver, a 68-year-old male, was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail for Driving While Suspended and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
December 11th - N Third Ave - An individual reported to officers that his wallet had been stolen and was being used at multiple locations. Officers obtained footage of one of the transactions, which allowed them to identify the suspect. A 50-year-old Salem man was subsequently arrested for Theft II.
December 17th - Cedar Ct - Officers were dispatched to a residence after a report that a male was at the property in violation of a no-contact order. Officers contacted the 43-year-old male and placed him under arrest for a probation violation. He was transported to the Marion County Jail.
December 20th - N Fourth Ave - An officer was dispatched to a report of property damage after a caller reported a shattered vehicle window and bullet holes in a living room window. Officers located small BBs near the window, indicating BB-gun damage. While canvassing the neighborhood, a nearby resident reported similar damage to their property. Following an investigation, officers charged a 13-year-old Stayton male with Criminal Mischief.
December 21st - Wilding Pl - Officers were on scene for an unrelated incident when they discovered a 39-year-old Stayton man had an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail.
December 21st - Wilding Pl - Officers were dispatched to a reported physical disturbance involving multiple individuals fighting. Upon arrival, officers separated the involved parties and conducted interviews. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Stayton man was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail for Assault IV.
December 25th - E Washington St - Officers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. They observed the vehicle swerving and failing to maintain its lane and initiated a traffic stop. Following an investigation, a 52-year-old Stayton driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and cited for Failure to Drive Within Lane.
December 27th - Westown Dr- Officers were dispatched to a reported disturbance at a residence, where a 27-year-old Stayton man was reportedly acting impaired and causing a disturbance. Dispatch advised that he had two outstanding warrants out of Multnomah County. Officers located the male at the scene and took him into custody. He was transported to the Marion County Jail for his warrants and a probation violation.
December 28th - N First St - A local business reported that a 47-year-old transient in the parking lot was acting aggressively and kicking a customer’s vehicle. Officers responded and contacted the male. The male was arrested and lodged at the jail on an outstanding warrant.
December 28th - N First Ave - Officers responded to a grocery store following a report of an assault. A store employee stated that a 31-year-old Aumsville woman became upset and threw groceries at them. After an investigation, officers arrested the woman, who was cited for Harassment – Physical.
December 28th - Officers were dispatched to a disturbance. Upon arrival, they observed two males fighting in the road. A 21-year-old Stayton man was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail for Assault IV, Menacing – Threats/Intimidation, and Disorderly Conduct.
December 30th - W Locust St - A 28-year-old Stayton was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to the Marion County Jail.
