HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK - WILLAMETTE AREA
We are expecting 2 to 2.25 inches of rainfall over the next 48 hours, with periods of moderate to heavy intensity rainfall mixed in. The National Weather Service has only issued a hydrologic outlook, but with the ground being 100% saturated if a pocket of heavy rainfall lasts for longer than forecasted, it may result in rising streams and low-level flooding.
Sand and sandbags may be picked up at a 24-hour self-serve sandbag filling station located outside of the gate at Knife River Corp. (41816 Stayton-Scio Rd SE) just outside of Stayton. You will need to bring your own shovel.
The Stayton Police Department and Public Works crews will be monitoring the streets and stream levels. If you notice high water in your neighborhood, please assist the City by raking leaves and removing debris from clogged inlets or catch basins.
If you need assistance or have questions, please contact Stayton’s non-emergency number at (503) 982-2340.
