Stayton Police Blotter - September 2025

This monthly police blotter contains a short summary of police arrests for September 2025. Please note this is just a glimpse into police activity in the City of Stayton that resulted in arrests and does not cover all calls for service.

September 2nd - N 1st Ave - Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a parked car in a parking lot and then left the scene. Following an investigation and witness interviews, officers were able to identify the subject and the vehicle involved. A 71-year-old man from Sublimity was charged with Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver When Property is Damaged.

September 6th - Golf Club Rd - Officers conducted a traffic stop on a driver for failing to drive within a lane and failing to renew vehicle registration. During the stop, dispatch advised that the driver had an active warrant out of Marion County. The officer issued citations for the traffic violations and based on the court’s direction a citation for Failure to Appear related to the warrant.

September 7th – E Washington St - Officers observed a male subject known to have an active warrant entering a local business. The 47-year-old Stayton resident was contacted by officers, arrested, and transported to the Marion County Jail.

September 8th - W Ida St - While on routine traffic patrol, an officer saw a driver toss a cigarette butt out the window of his vehicle. The 52-year-old Scio resident was stopped and arrested for Offensive Littering. He was cited to appear in court.

September 8th - N Third Ave - Officers were dispatched to a loitering complaint. A short distance away, they located the subject and witnessed him discard an object into nearby grass. The discarded item was recovered and identified as drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed the individual had an active Marion County warrant. He was arrested, transported to Marion County Jail, and additionally booked on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Parole Violation.

September 11th - E Santiam St - Officers responded to a report of a physical altercation between a mother and her daughter. Officers arrested the daughter for Assault IV and Harassment - Physical. The 18-year-old Stayton resident was transported to the Marion County Jail.

September 11th - Shaff Rd - While on patrol, an officer observed a 48-year-old Stayton resident riding a bicycle who was known to have an active warrant. The officer made contact, and the male was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail.

September 12th - N 6th St - Officers were dispatched to a report of a person trying to gain entry through a window to reach a known resident. Upon arrival, officers located the individual in his vehicle parked in front of the residence.

During the investigation, it was learned that the subject had multiple active warrants out of Marion County. The 29-year-old male resident of Longview, Washington was placed under arrest and is now facing charges of Criminal Trespass in the 1st Degree in addition to the warrants.

September 12th - Whitney St - Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. A juvenile was cited for Harassment - Physical.

September 13th - W Virginia St - A 22-year-old Salem resident was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail on charges of Rape I, Sodomy I, Kidnapping I, Sexual Penetration with an Object I, Strangulation (Misdemeanor).

September 18th - N 7th Ave - While on routine patrol, an officer made contact with a 37-year-old male subject known to have outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail.

September 20th - N First Ave - An Officer was dispatched to a reported theft at a local business. Witnesses stated that a subject left the store with unpaid items in her backpack and ran from the location, leaving the backpack at a nearby residence before returning to the business to retrieve her vehicle. Later, an officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The subject, a 49-year-old Eugene resident, was arrested for Theft II.

September 20th - Westown Rd - During routine patrol, an officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle failing to maintain its lane. Officers noted signs of impairment and confirmed his driver’s license was suspended. There were two minor aged passengers in the vehicle. The driver was required to have an ignition interlock device (IID), which was not installed. The 22-year-old male was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Driving While Suspended and Reckless Endangering x 2.

September 24th - Whitney St - Officers responded to a call where a citizen reported a possible impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle and after conducting an investigation, arrested the 56-year-old male resident from Keizer for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.

September 25th - N 1st Ave - Stayton officers responded to a business on a report of a possible active shoplifter. Upon arrival, they observed the male subject exiting the store and contacted him outside. Officers reviewed video surveillance footage, which corroborated the report of theft. Officers arrested the 38-year-old transient, transported him to the Stayton Police Department, and charged him with Theft in the Third Degree (Theft III).

September 25th - N 7th Ave - During routine patrol of the park, officers contacted a 49-year-old male transient who showed signs of visible intoxication and also had open containers of alcohol nearby. The subject was charged with Prohibited Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Public Property and issued a park exclusion.

September 29 - 7th Ave - Officers contacted a male who had previously been excluded from the park. He was charged with Trespass.
